Anomalies - Marissa Lete

★★★★☆

An action-packed sequel.

Laura and the other Anomalies continue to hunt down Alice while being hunted themselves.

While hardly any of my questions were answered, I did get more insight to the antagonists, which made everything even more mysterious. Who is the real villain? The conflict is frustratingly addictive. Will they get ahead? No. They’re gonna do it! Ahh, no. This time! Nope again. I both loved it and hated it. Lol! It’s a realistic struggle for teenagers against a large organization, and is a great hook to keep me reading to the final book.

The Anomalies’ abilities are so unique! They are far from your popular marvel or dc superpowers, and it’s a fresh take I really loved. Each ability and how they work is simply creative genius.

The plot feels less obvious than the first book, maybe because it’s between the trilogy’s big beginning and end, but it’s fast-paced, with teen drama, and just as much action as the previous book, so this sequel doesn’t really feel like a filler.

4/5 would recommend
(I was an ARC reader for this)
